What can we say, the photos are AMAZING!! We feel you have really captured us as a couple so so well and we cannot wait for our big day even more now.

Growing up in NZ I used to disappear for entire weekends with friends to explore places we’d never been to before. Exploration seeped into my blood. So whenever couples don’t have a location in mind for pre/post wedding shoots, I like to see it as an opportunity to go somewhere new & explore that place together. It becomes a (fun!) shared experience that transcends the nerves of having your photo taken (or taking photos!). It’s something we do together.

So it was cool to hang out with Sophie & Tom at Cannock Chase Forest, which I’d never visited before. We walked along paths that sliced their way through rows of tall trees and chatted about life & their upcoming wedding. We stopped to admire an impressive looking den. Tom batted away Sophie’s good natured insults along with midges that seemed particularly keen on taking a bite out of him. I made them run & jump a little. And all through this we sought out good light in the name of their pre wedding photos. You can peep the results below ?

We asked Sophie & Tom a few questions about their engagement shoot & how they felt about the experience.

Why did you guys opt for a pre wedding shoot?

We thought it would help with the nerves of having our pictures taken on our big day, as we’d spend more time with you before then and get to know you more.  It was also another thing to enjoy during the build up to the wedding as everyone tells us how it’ll be strange when it’s all over.

How did you feel about it in the lead up to the shoot?

We were a bit apprehensive and nervous, but excited too! We felt at ease with you straight away and soon got into it all!

What were three things that you enjoyed about the experience of the shoot?

We got to explore a new place; you had lots of great suggestions! It was nice for us to get some time out together as we’re often running around seeing friends/family, doing housework or sorting out the dog!  We had a great laugh, trying lots of different things and getting to know you better which got us even more excited for our wedding day.

Is it something you would recommend other couples go for? Why?

Definitely! We were unsure at first as it put us slightly over what we’d budgeted, but it was well worth every penny for so many reasons! We have some lovely photos and memories. We feel more at ease and comfortable around you, which will hopefully show on our big day too. Flicking through the photo gallery has made us even more excited!

Thinking about a pre/post wedding shoot? Or maybe a couple shoot with no reference to a wedding whatsoever – that’s fine too! We’d love to hear from you!
