Wow, they look incredible! Just love them, thank you so much. Put a bloody huge smile on my face!
Fiona & Tom’s wedding was a relaxed, chilled out & uncomplicated day. Free of the formalities that can lead to to a sense of expectation & pressure to perform – that can get in the way of what’s truly important. These two chose to forgo some of the typical wedding traditions such as a sit down meal, speeches and the first dance, in favour of being able to devote themselves to hanging out with their friends & fam one-to-one, and the joy of being fully present with their people.
In doing so they were able to have their wedding at their local pub, The Red Lion in Hunningham – just a short walk from their home. As well as being a sweet pub in beautiful surroundings, it’s a place of personal connection for them, a place they can often be found in, one that connects them to their community.
Having their venue so close to home also meant they could make some time for a few important things… like a post-ceremony coffee & crumpet break! And spending a few precious moments with their beloved cat, Hugo & dog, Hank ? Of course having your reception in a pub meant that Hank was welcome and could also be part of the day. (I’m sure Hugo the cat would have been welcome too, but you know, cats at pubs are far less practical!).
Let’s take a moment to mention Fi’s dress, designed by the wonderful NZ based Rue De Seine. As well as looking incredible we’re also stoked that Fiona was quietly repping a wedding dress conceived & made in our beloved New Zealand. Tom, not to be outdone, decided to have his navy suit & contrasting waistcoat tailor made at a local & independent menswear shop. Go tailor made guys ?
So much love for these two. Bucking tradition. Reflecting what’s important to them back into their day. Relaxed moments, good food & drink, and great company in a place that holds meaning.
